Life’s Mountain

A mountain never moves,
Who said that anyway,
You might have to tunnel through it,
It will take more than a day.

Try harder, have faith,
The philosopher’s do cry,
Confucius started with one small stone,
I often wonder why.

Don’t bother, is my answer,
The mountain ain’t going anywhere,
Go round, go through or over it,
Don’t just stand there look up and stare.

My mountain sits before me,
I’ve got a pile of things to do.
I’ll pick one and get going,
I know I’ll muddle through.

Alas it’s never ending,
My mountain will not be gone,
I’ll turn around again next week,
It’ll be back before too long.

So accept the mountain,
The burdens and the strife,
Just go round, go through or over them,
This mountain is called life.
