The bogey man

The bogeyman is real He said,
But sometimes he can just be shy,
He doesn’t always come out to play,
Let me tell you why.

He’s not a handsome chap,
He’s never been a party raver,
But he’ll never let you down,
If you ever need a favour.

Not that anyone asks him,
He really wishes they would,
He’s really quite a nice guy,
But so misunderstood.

Waiting in your closet,
Or under the bed he’ll lie,
But everytime you see him,
You begin to cry.

He really is a nice guy,
A charming kind of fellow,
All he really wishes,
Is for you to say hello.

Strike up a conversation,
Ask him about his day,
Then as you quietly drift off to sleep,
He’ll quietly slip away.
