Just because I can

I’ve never been an artist,
Proclaimed that I can draw.
I’ve never been a Wordsmith
Or a doyen of the law.

I love to draw my pictures
And put them on display,
I never ask for money
Nor praise in any way

You see I love the exercise
The peace that art can bring
I sometimes think I should join a choir
And just learn how to sing

But as it is I only know
How to write and sign my name,
Just for fun I think you should
Follow me and do the same.

Take an hour off sometime
Use it just for you
Draw, create, and write your pro’s
Even if you haven’t got a clue.

So here I end this poem,
Written just because I can
I can do whatever I want
Because I am just what I am.
